Hello,
Intermittent use of Daphne is not advisable. When taken continuously on regular basis as per the instructions, the birth control pill Daphne is over 99% effective at preventing an unwanted
pregnancy.
The best time to start taking Daphne is on the first day of your period (day one of your menstrual cycle) you’ll be protected from pregnancy immediately. You do not need additional
contraception.
If you start taking the pill up to the fifth day of your period, you’ll be protected from pregnancy immediately however you need additional contraception such as condom if you have a very short cycle or a cycle that changes.
If you start taking the pills at any other time in your menstrual cycle, you’ll need to avoid sex or use additional contraception, such as condoms, until you have taken the pill for seven days.
Remember, Daphne tablet must be taken at the same time every day to ensure consistent levels of hormones (medicine) in your body for 21 days to complete the pack.
If you take the pills intermittently consistent levels of hormones (medicines) can be achieved and hence contraception may not be effective at all.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
