Is Internal Massage Advisable For Pain After Coccyx Removal?
I am a male, caucasion, 64 yrs of age. On 9-3-14 I had my coccyx removed when less conservstive measures failed to provide me relief from a broken coccyx caused by a trauma injury. However, I still have pain on the rightside where the sacrum joined the coccyx. A therapist has recommended internal massage. Is this a safe and effective treatment?
It is not recommended to massage that area as it is already painful. Do an MRI to rule out any severity first and then an opinion can be given. Apply BENGAY Cold Therapy [topical gel] or spray.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Sunny Madar, General & Family Physician
