Is Irregular Usage Of Lisinopril Advisable?

I have high blood pressure and have been prescribed Lisinopril HCTZ. I enjoy drinking a glass or two of wine in the evening. I have not begun this medication because of the awful possible side effects. I have chosen to be treated by an homeopthic physician. I need to have a tooth removed which involves anesthesia. The blood pressure readings in the office are deemed too high for this procedure. Can this drug be taken for a short time to lower the blood pressure for this procedure and then discontinued in favor of being treated by alternative means?

I understand your concern.
You need to take medications for treating blood pressure for lifetime. You can not discontinue the medications in between as it could cause rebound hypertension, which can be dangerous to your life.
Also, there are no proved medications available to effectively control blood pressure in alternative medicines.
Kindly follow the advise as given by your doctor properly to keep you blood pressure under control and for your good health.
