Is It A Serious Issue If A Child Is Having Seizure?

hello dr. my son is just 41 days old. he is having seizures from last 5 days. at birth time he had suck meiconium and on 3rd day of birth he had aspirated milk. dr. dignosed him of asphixia. he has got eeg done and report is normal. right now he is been given 2.5ml gurdinal syrup daily. i want to know whether this is something related to epilepsy and a serious issue?

This is not a serious issue but not minor either.It needs proper evaluation,management, investigation and follow up.Cause could be
.Birth asphyxia causind brain damage
.Hypoglycemia
.hypocalcemia
.inborn errors of metabolism
.seizure disorder
