Xanax and
Ativan contain alprazolam and
lorazepam respectively. Basically both have similar mechanism of action and similar side effect profile as both belong to same class of medicines i.e.
benzodiazepine. Only difference is that Ativan (lorazepam) is shorter-acting as compared to Xanax (alprazolam). If you think that Xanax worked better for you than Ativan then you can again shift to Xanax. But both are habit forming drugs and they are not recommended for long term use.
Advice
1. You can continue with Xanax at bed time
2. Avoid driving and swimming as it causes sedation
3. Workout in gym at least ½ hour in a day for 5 days in a week
4. Appreciate your special qualities
