Is It Advisable To Travel By Flight While On Contraceptive Patch?

I am thinking of switching to the contraceptive patch; I am currently using the birth control pill and have been for many years. I want to switch to the patch because it is only once a week that it needs switching. I am about to go on a two week trip overseas on an 8 hour flight, and I am wondering if it would be safe for me to switch over to the patch before the trip? Is it safe to fly with the patch (I know you are at a higher risk of blood clots).

I would advise you to switch over to patch after your trip keeping the tendency to get clots with it especially while flying for long distances.
