Is It More Difficult To Lose Weight While On Metoprolol?

Is it more difficult to lose weight while on metoprolol? Currently, I am 43 years old and take 25 mg once per day. Historically, I have had little problems losing weight, but can't seem to lose more than a couple of lbs even while eating well and exercising regularly.

Hello,
Thanks for using Healthcaremagic.

Metoprolol is not known to cause metabolic changes and do not affect your weight. I understand that you never had difficulty in losing weight but I do not think metoprolol is cause at this time.

There could be many reasons for weight loss difficulties including some other ongoing problem (hypothyroidism) or inability to put proper efforts.

I hope this helps you.
Thanks and regards.
