Good day Ms.Irreg, It is absolutely essential to correct your irregular periods and take care of your PCOS . Because irregular periods means your hormone levels are not in terms with your body , imbalance in hormone levels could cause major effect on your body and mood. Endometrial thickening and follicular cyst formation in ovary are a possibility. Apart from this psychologically it could affect your life style. Taking pills to correct your periods could be beneficial ..it WL help you when you plan your pregnancy.Apart from correcting your irregular periods changing your lifestyle to healthier living will reduce your PCOS. Reducing your weight(if you are overweight according to BMI) , eating healthy (avoid red meat , junk food , fast food) making regular exercise at least for 30mins a habit, all this has been said to reduce PCOS and correct irregular periods. Thank you.
