Is It Normal For A Sac To Grow And There Be No Baby?
Hi I went for a 2nd scan today and my sac has grown from 12mm to 17mm they could only find a sac with a yolk sac and a lot of membranes in the sac. I have to go back in a weeks time for another scan the doctor did say its not looking good. Is it normal for a sac to grow and there be no baby?

It sounds like it is a blighted ovum.. If the size of sac is more than 20mm without a yolk sac, it points towards blighted ovum.. Here there is no point in continuing the pregnancy.. A D and C would be adviced.. Dont worry, you can try in the next pregnancy after geting 1 periods.. But with 20mm sac if yolk sac is present, follow up scan after 2 weeks to see for fetal pole..
