I m 23 weeks pregnant very since 6 weeks my vagina has had a lot of discharge witch it normal but now around my clit it white stuff that won t come off and above it itches so bad I have red bumps aboutnit and witch flakes coming off like its dryer skin but is wet? Vaginal secretions are increased during pregnancy. The volume, consistency and frequency of the vaginal discharge varies throughout the pregnancy. The volume is more during the end of pregnancy due to the pressure effect of fetal head on cervix.
Normal vaginal discharge is clear, thin, sticky, milky white called as leukorrhea. If the consistency becomes streaky, lumpy, rule out yeast infection. Odor of the discharge also changes in infection. Specific treatment is necessary to avoid any complication. Visit the obstetrician for further evaluation and treatment. Untreated condition may lead to preterm delivery.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Pradeepraj, General & Family Physician
