General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Vaginal secretions are increased during pregnancy. The volume, consistency and frequency of the vaginal discharge varies throughout the pregnancy. The volume is more during the end of pregnancy due to the pressure effect of fetal head on cervix.

Normal vaginal discharge is clear, thin, sticky, milky white called as leukorrhea. If the consistency becomes streaky, lumpy, rule out yeast infection. Odor of the discharge also changes in infection. Specific treatment is necessary to avoid any complication. Visit the obstetrician for further evaluation and treatment. Untreated condition may lead to preterm delivery.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
