Hi my wife has vaginal discharge in her 4 th month of pregnancy Doctor has prescribed Clindamycin and clotrimazol Still some whit discharge is there but not sure it is due to tablet contents or natural vaginal discharge pl tell me is it safe during pregnancy
Hi There is slight increase in natural vaginal discharge during pregnancy. This normal discharge is not associated with symptoms like itching, foul smell or soreness. The normal vaginal discharge is whitish in colour. If the discharge your wife has is similar to the one mentioned above, then don't worry
If you have doubt Do consult your obstetrician. If I were your wife's doctor I would perform a speculum examination and if there is clinical picture of infection take a vaginal swab for culture sensitivity and treat accordingly. Vaginal infection is not safe during pregnancy. It can initiate early labour. So it is important to treat it. I hope I have answered to your satisfaction. If you have any further concerns do consult me through healthcare magic. I will be happy to answer.
