I had a pulmonary Cat scan yesterday. The tech had serious issues in getting the dye into my bloodstream attempting on both arms. On the fourth try I was ready to go. I had quad by pass five years ago and still have some breathing issues and have had many many tests to find the source of my breathing issues. It seems that when I exert myself or bend in a certain way that I get pain rising from my upper chest into my neck and throat. Well, as the CAT scan was concluded and I was being removed from the machine I started to shiver and for 15 minutes or so my heart rate rose from a normally low rate of 100 over 80 or so to over 150. My docs were very concerned. The scan showed no abnormalities, no embolisms. It took a cookie and about 15 minutes before my rate came down and I left their office when it was at 125 or so. This was my second test within one week with unexpected results. The week previous I had a nuclear stress test where on a flat treadmill with my heart rate chemically raised I became dizzy and needed to be helped to a table to rest when my heart rate was only raised to 102 beats. Both tests showed no heart issues, but it seemed that these tests themselves caused these issues. Doctors are confused and concerned
