Is It Normal To Feel Pain In Testicle After Inguinal Hernia Repair?
Hi, I had a inguinal hernia repair surgery (left side) 3 days ago. My pain is slowly decreasing and my mobility is increasing. However there are two things that are worrying me. 1- My surgery was keyhole and I have 3 incisions. One just under bellybutton and two just below belly. Above the 2 incisions under my belly there is a bruised line. I was wondering the reason for this as I would expect the bruise to be nore close to the incisions. 2- I have some pain in my left testis is this normal? After the second day this pain appeared with also some burning while urinating. Thanks, AJ
The position of laparoscopic ports are determined by the needed internal approach in the working planes as well as laparoscopic surgen's experience and knowledge. I would request you not to worry about the port site placement as you have gone through best surgery by best experts.
The pain in left testicle indicates possible orchitis or inflammation after the vas deference and cord handling; this is usually transient and gets cleared within next 3-4 days.
In my clinic, I do recommend: - Application of scrotal support via suspensory bandage - Avoid tight undergarments - Anti-inflammatory drug as diclofenac with serratiopeptidase - Prophylactic antibiotics for fast recovery - Avoid weight lifting - Control of blood sugar
