Is It Normal To Have Black Colored Stool With Lung Cancer??
Hi Doc. My father who is 69 yrs old has been recently diagnosed with 3rd stage lung cancer (Poorly differentiated adenocarcinoma). He is been passing black colored stool for last 3 days. He took the 3rd cycle of chemo on 1st Sept. Is it a serious issue?
Chemotherapy can cause diarrhea as diarrhea. I would advise loperamide tablets 2 mg 2 hrly for him until his stool stops. I would also advise stool for occult blood test and stool culture for your father. If any growth is found in stool then it has to be treated with sensitive antibiotic.
