Is It Normal To Have Cramps In Lower Abdomen After Taking Duphaston?
I took duphaston to prevent miscarriage as precribed by my doctor. She said that i should take 4 tabs tonight and 1 tab tomorrow for every 3 hrs. Now i am awake in the middle of the night for having cramps in the lower left side of my abdomen. Is this normal? Or should i call for emergency?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have cramps in lower abdomen after taking Duphaston. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like indigestion , gastritis or IBS, but in your case the symptoms are probably occur due to side effects of duphaston as it is known to cause abdominal disturbance . I would suggest you to apply warm compresses on abdominal , eat light and non spicy , eat probiotics food like yogurt and take ibuprofen or acetaminophen for pain . If condition doesn't get better then consult doctor , who prescribe this medicine , Doctor may alter the dose or prescribe substitute . Doctor may also refer you to gastroenterologist for other reasons.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
