Is It Normal To Have Diarrhea With Severe Bleeding After Taking Cytotec For Induced Miscarriage?
Hi. Hope you can help me with this one. I am 5 weeks pregnant but my doctor advises me miscarriage. I took 1 mife. After 2 hours i took 2 cytotec vaginally. 3 hours later 4 cytotec orally. Bleeding starts as well as diarrhea. I felt some blood sac fell when i go to poop. I felt cramps but took pain reliever. After 3 hours i took 4 cytotec. But the bleeding stops until now after 16 hours. I also feel normal. Should i take another cytotec? I hope you can help me.
I understand your issue. You seem to have taken too many doses of cytotec and that too they have been taken too frequently. This is the reason for diarrhea.
I would not recommend that you take any further cytotec. Please visit your doctor after 5-14 days to confirm that the process is complete as chances of incomplete abortion are there in 2-3% cases and they may need a surgical evacuation. In the meanwhile if you have excess bleeding at any point of time visit your doctor. Please remember that excess doses of any drug do not help and may cause toxicity so every drug must be taken with caution and using the recommended doses.
As you are not having any bleeding now and saw a blood clot, most likely the process has been completed so do not worry.
Hope this satisfies your query. Thanks for using HCM. Feel free to ask any more questions that you may have. Dr Madhuri Bagde Consultant Obstetrician and Gynecologist
