Is It Normal To Have More Pain In Ankle During Healing Process Post A Fracture?
Ok one week ago I fractured my right ankle. I was placed on a non weight bearing cast cause the bone didn t move out of place. I got light pain and I am on a pain medication. However two days ago when I came off the bed to use the bathroom, I noticed I got more pain than usual around the ankle. The pain eases with elevation, I can move my toes, no swelling either but when elevated; slight tingling around the site. My question is it normal to get more pain around the ankle during the healing process. Cause only get it when I have to use my crutches to get to the bath and the foot is down?
During healing, due inflammation process pain and tenderness will be there. Any way pain is more not tolerable go to your doctor and check it fractured bone in position. Meantime try Tab. Chymurolfote 1tid; Tab. Combiflam 1bid. for 5 days.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr C.ELANCHEZHIAN, General & Family Physician
