Is It Normal To Have Penis Foreskin Swollen And Blue After A Surgery With Non Dissolving Stitches?

I had surgery with two non dissolvable stitches on my penis on Tuesday, it was a small harmless lump on the inside of my foreskin, it is out now, my foreskin is severely swollen and blue, it s worse in the evening, I still cannot retract the foreskin back. Is this normal?

Urologist 's  Response
Hello
Thanks for your query, based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you have undergone surgery for removal of lump on iunder surface of your foreskin very recently and has developed swelling of the forskin and unable to retarct the same.

This oedema is natural tissue reaction to foreign material (Non absorbable suture material ) used .

This will gradually get resolved over a period of 10 days.

You need to take broad spectrum antibiotic like Cefexine along with anti inflammatory drug like Diclofenac twice daily.along with topical antibiotic ointment like Neosporin twice daily.

Ensure to wash your genitals with warm water twice daily.
