Hello,

Severe pain following a root canal treatment is uncommon.
It may be due to sensitivity due to exposure of nerves or the root canal treatment may be incomplete.
Secondly uncontrolled blood sugar poses the risk of infection due to defective immunity.
I would advice my patient to control the blood sugar and take regular medicines for diabetes. Maintain good oral health. Consult the dentist to evaluate for the unreasonable pain.
