OBGYN Dr. Dr. Rakhi Tayal's  Response
Hello.
Welcome to HealthcareMagic forum.
Acute tonsillitis can cause excessive swelling of vocal cords which causes loss of voice. Taking antibiotics and warm saline gargles will reduce the inflammation and swelling and will help in regaining the lost voice.
