Is It Normal To Smell Strong Scent Of Ammonia In Breads And Certain Foods During Cold?
Hello, I caught a cold, body fever and all.. I could not bare the body pain so I had been taking 1000ml of Tylonal not exceeding 4 times a day.. I have been sneezing, coughing and diaria. My question is why am I smelling a strong scent of ammonia in breads and certain foods? I went in my fridge and noticed it wasn t everything but keep smelling ammonia ... WHY?
The symptoms as mentioned in your post can be attributed to Upper Respiratory tract infection. As your nasal mucosa is congested & the olfactory component is deranged, you are appreciating the smell of ammonia even if it is not present. Tylenol being an analgesic anti-pyretic preparation will take care of fever & body ache.
Symptomatic management of cold includes: 1. Steam inhalation. 2. Nasal decongestant drops. 3. Antibiotics depending upon culture & sensitivity reports. 4. Antihistamine preparations can also be used to provide symptomatic relief. 5. Maintain adequate hydration & a healthy balance diet. 6. Also make sure that you are well protected from cold, dust & other allergens.
So, kindly consult an ENT specialist & start treatment as advised. Wish you good health & a speedy recovery. Take care.
