Is It Ok To Take Ativan Before MRI Scan?
I am going to be going in for an MRI and I have severe claustrophobia, my doctor prescribed me some Ativan just before the procedure, will I be able to fall asleep with this medication. I am afraid I won t be able to get through this without going to sleep. Also can they put me in feet first, the MRI is of my lumbar area. Thank you

Ativan is a valium derivative that is used for relieving anxiety and tension.
It also induce sleepiness.
Low doses are usually well tolerated and will relax you and allow usual function. Higher doses will put you to sleep.
So you just go through as per the advice of your doctor and have faith in medicine.
