Is It Okay To Drink Once The Verorab Shots Are Finished?

Hi I'm in Vietnam and got bitten by a dog Sunday the 6th at 6pm. I do not have a vaccination for rabies. I went to a hospital yesterday and was given verorab shot number 1. I have 4 more to get. I wasn't given immunoglobulin.. Is this necessary or will the verorab suffice? Also I was told by the doctor I can't drink for 6 months... Will it be ok to drink when they are finished the shots?

Hi, Welcome to Health care magic forum.
If the dog is stray dog, and the bite is on the face of or upper limbs, and the bite is extensive, immuno globulin may be necessary.Other wise only vaccin will be suffecient, according to the shedule.
If the dog is alive, and healthy after 1 month of the bite the vaccination is also may not be necesory. or 3 shots may be sufecient.
Care must be taken for complete healing of the wound of the bite.
I usually prescribe to my patient with such dog bite, ofloxacin, ornidazole, serratiapeptidase, and paracetamol.
Wishing for a quick and complete recovery. Thank you.
