Is It Possible To Get Rabies From A Vaccinated Dog?
my pet dog accidentally left nail marking on my 3 yr old sons face on 27 feb11 . he was taken to a pediatric who then administered one dose of rabipur and advised to continue a full course of about six injections after consultations with specialists , though our dog is vaccinated and does not interact with other dogs of the area. my wife and son are planning to travel to delhi on 04mar11 and will arrive at 05mar11. should i administer the successive doses on the same date and is the vaccination a common one so that i can get it done over here?
If your dog is properly vaccinated then there is less likelihood of rabbies, to be on safe side it is preffered to have a prophylactic dose of anti rabbies.
whether your son bitted by dog,s nail or teeth .if nail was there then no need to take rabies inj but if teeth bite is there then you have to complete the mentioned course sugessted by your dr.
