Hello,

The following are few points to be understood:
1) HNP in pregnancy can occur either with symptoms like severe low back pain and sensory deficit or without symptoms
2) Mostly the preferred method of delivery in patients having HNP is cesarean section
3) Normal vaginal delivery can also be done depending upon the patient's MRI findings and obstetrician decision
4) Epidural steroid injection can be given to the pregnant lady for normal delivery
5) But cesarean section seems to be the best and safest method of delivery in patients with HNP without increasing the symptoms.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Pallavi M., Anesthesiologist
