Is It Possible To Have Normal Delivery While Having HNP Lumbar Bilateral At L4 L5 And S1?
Hello doctor.. I am nurma 26 years old with height 163 cm and weight 59 kg and now I am pregnant for the first time. I have aritmia and HNP lumbal bilateral at L4 L5 and S1. My pregnancy now is 17 weeks.. My question, With my condition can I have a normal delivery baby?
The following are few points to be understood: 1) HNP in pregnancy can occur either with symptoms like severe low back pain and sensory deficit or without symptoms 2) Mostly the preferred method of delivery in patients having HNP is cesarean section 3) Normal vaginal delivery can also be done depending upon the patient's MRI findings and obstetrician decision 4) Epidural steroid injection can be given to the pregnant lady for normal delivery 5) But cesarean section seems to be the best and safest method of delivery in patients with HNP without increasing the symptoms.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Pallavi M., Anesthesiologist
