Is It Possible To Have Scarlet Fever Without A Positive Throat Swab For Strep?
I am an adult who works with young children. I have a rash on my underarms and legs that looks like scarlet fever and had chills, slight sore throat and headache this past weekend. I went to the dr. This morning and had a negative throat swab for strep. He said that the rash looks like scarlet fever and gave me antibiotics. Is it possible to have scarlet fever even without a positive throat swab for strep?
