Is It Possible To Reduce The Pain In Legs Without Medicine?

I have been on Oxycodone for less than a year . 10 mg extended realise 3 times a day with 1 325 ml percocet in between if needed for breakthrouh pain. i had a bad accident 7 years ago where both legs were broken and my pelvis was fractured. i do have chronic pain. i was never on the oxycodone though till this past year. if i dont take it when there is no pain i start mild withdrawal which tells me i need to be off these now. i would rather have the pain. there has been too much addiction with a couple of family members and will not get to the point they did. i do have a dr appt in two weeks but would like to know what i can do now to get started and some suggestions for easing the wd issues. Can you help??

Hello,
Thanks for your query.

Your description suggests that you are getting cramps in the calf muscles.Cramps are painful spasms in a muscle and are often caused by overuse, dehydration, or nutritional deficiencies.
Beside medicine following measure will help-
*Drink fluid-An electrolyte imbalance can be the cause of muscle spasms, so rehydrating with an electrolyte drink can help restore balance.
*Stretch the affected muscle with a mild, static stretch.
*Use ice to numb the pain in a cramp, reducing inflammation and allowing the muscle to relax.
*Bring the affected muscle into a relaxed position and apply direct compression to the cramp.

I do hope that you have found something helpful and I will be glad to answer any further query.
Take care
