Is It Safe Stopping Gardenal Dosage Taken For Seizure Treatment?

My child had a seizure on 2nd day of birth, the child id being treated with Gardenal ( daily night 1 ml) there are seizure repeated till now, she is 1 month old, but due to the medicine effect, the kid will always have dowziness and sleepy. Can we stop the gardenal syrup.

Greetings of the day

It is not advisable to abruptly stop anticonvulsant, as they can lead to flaring up of convulsive episodes.
If after thorough investigation, possible causes of convulsion are ruled out, EEG is normal than tapering the dose of anti-convulsant in consultation with Pediatrician is advisable.
