Is It Safe Taking Expectorant Cough Syrup And Bromhexine Hydrochloride During Pregnancy?
hi,i'm currently 26wks pregnant.last night,i have asthma attack..rushing to the hospital,the doctor gave me an oxigen (2 times) and brought back medicines: need to take 15ml of expectorant diphenhydramine(diphendryl expectorant cough syrup and nasal congestion) and 1 tablet bromhexine hydrochloride every 8hours...is it safe for me?is my baby safe?

THe medications prescribed to you are safe for short term use. in addition, ensure that you take daily Vitamin C tablets. Also stay warm. Layer yourself. Gargle with warm saline water. Drink lots of hot broths and soups ( chicken soups etc ) Use basil, ginger in the broths and soups. Avoid eating outside. Take deep calm breaths. Try yoga and meditation to practise breathing. Do not worry about the medications, they are safe to use. AVoid stress, as it precipitates asthma often. Take care.
