Is It Safe Taking Antibiotics And Painkillers After Teeth Removal While Planning To Conceive ?
Dear sir, I have a small problem with my teeth for which my dentist has adviced that the teeth be removed. I am planning to concive before one day of the teeth removal process. Is it safe to take antibiotics and pain killers during this period ??? Please help on this....
some antibiotic are safe in pregnancy. so you tell your dentist clearly that i am planning for the pregnancy. dentist will take all the precautions for your treatment.
yes, you may take by doctor advice...few antiboitics and painkillers are safe in pregnency....
but if possible take your treatment after delivery of baby...or if you cant postpond toolanger period than its much safe to get your treatment in 2nd Trimester of your pregnency....i.e. 4th to 6th month,,...
last week of 3 rd month and begning of 6th month is also as safe as 2nd trimester...
try to avoid radiografic exposer...
and if radiographic examination is must that take adequate precoution likewearing LED Apron., thyroide caler etc...
i would advice you to get rid of this tooth if you have not concieved yet and also inform your dentist about your pregnancy...there are few antibiotics and analgesics which are considered to be safe during this period.. if you have already concieved then it would be best if you can delay the treatment for 3 months as 2nd trimester of pregnancy is considered to be the safest one bcoz child's vital organs are already developed...so less chances of any mishap is there...but if you feel its urgent then you may proceed with the treatment and take those medicines which are safer to use in pregnancy...
most importantly , do inform about this to your dentist
hello what i would suggest is that instead of getting the tooth extracted after conciving you get that done before and have proper antibiotic and anelgesic cover dont worry most of the drugs prescribed by a qualified dentist dont have any serious side effects on pregnancy just one thing you should do is that avois x ray exposure if its not very necessary hope that helps
Antibiotics and analgesics after tooth extraction are usually prescribed for 3-5 days. You can safely take the drug for the given period. And follow the post extraction instructions given to you properly. Take lukewarm saline and antiseptic mouthwash rinses for an early recovery. Take rest and avoid anxiety and stress.
HELLO BHARGI THANK YOU FOR SHARING YOUR CONCERN ON HCM IT IS ADVISABLE TO FINISH DENTAL TREATMENT FIRST AND THEN CONCEIVE. SOME ANTIBIOTICS AND PAINKILLERS ARE SAFE IN PREGNANCY. AND FOR TREATMENT 2ND TRIMESTER(4TH , 5TH AND 6TH MONTH)IS SAFE PERIOD. PLEASE LET YOUR DENTIST KNOW ABOUT YOUR PREGNANCY. REGARDS.
hi... thanks for the query... well, at this period antibiotics and painkillers are safe... but type of antibiotics and analgesics matters after you conceive... pencillins and paracetamol are usually considered safe... so consult your dentist first... if possible go for the treatment in 2nd trimester i.e. between 4th and 6th month... hope it will help you... take care...
It is better you finish your tooth problem and then think of having pregnancy as infection during procedure is likely and over and above you may require antibiotic and anti inflammatory medicines during this period,so think of conceiving after every thing is settled.
if its a small problem you can get it removed and take safe antibiotics. but in case you have repeated infections, pls get dental treatment before the pregnancy.
Its advisable to first get all your dental & other treatments done before planning a baby. It will be a head-ache during pregnancy. There are drugs which don't cross the plancetal barrier called "safe drugs".
In pregnancy only some antibiotics and painkillers are safe . If you are planning for a baby tell your dentist first so that he may do the treatment accordingly.
It would be advisable to take dental treatment before conciving a baby.
