Is It Safe To Administer Fenstil For A Long Time To A Child?

Hi, my daughter is 3 months old and she was not a good sleeper since her birth and had sneezing and watery eyes.. so we started giving her fenistil at 2 months... its been a month giving her. Is that okay to give her for that long period of time? we give her 3 drops each day...

Hi and welcome to HCM. Fenistil contains Dimethindene maleate,it is a histamine antagonist at the H1-receptor sites. For Infant & childn 10-20 drops 3 times daily is recommended. In young children, antihistamines have been reported to possibly produce excitability. Caution is recommended in case of administration of any antihistamine in infants
