Hello, Welcome to HCM,
Rabies is a disease transmitted by dog bite, which is 100% fatal but it is 100% preventable by proper and adequate treatment.
The treatment includes local wound treatment with soap and water, active immunization with anti rabies vaccine on days 0,3,7,14 and 28 and passive immunization with anti rabies serum in and around the wound.
Alcohol consumption should be avoided during the course of treatment as it may interfere with the production of antibody titres against rabies virus. Thank you.
