Is It Safe To Give Ventolin Salbutamol Evohaler For Toddlers Suffering From Wheezing And Dry Cough?

Hi my 21 months old son got a wheezing breathing along with his cold/dry cough. Doctor presribed him Ventolin Salbutamol Evohaler 100 micrograms. but the instructions says its only for 2 years plus. Is this medicine suitable for my 21 months old son?
