Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

Dulcolax (biscodyl) is a laxative that mainly works by increasing bowel movements (peristalsis) and also by some increase in water content of stools.

These mechanisms won't help to loosen the wax (wax is impermeable to water). It is unlikely to cause significant side effects apart from minor local irritation- just wash once with clean water.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Muhammed Aslam T. K., Pediatrician
