Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My CARDIOLOGIST HAS CONCLUDED AFTER READING MY HOLTOR MONITOR THAT I SHOULD REDUCE THE QUANTITY OF MY CURRENT USE OF MICARDIS. SHE HAS PRESCRIBED LOSARTAN/HCTZ 50/12.5MG. THIS IS I/2 OF THE DOSAGE OF MY MICARDIS. MY QUESTION IS CAN I CUT THE MICARDIS PILLS THAT I HAVE LEFT OVER & USE 1/2 EACH DAY? I WILL CONTINUE MY NEW RX OF LOSARTAN IF I CAN USE UP THE MICARDIS I HAAVE ON HAND. PLEASE GIVE ME SOME ADVICE. I HAVE 56 PILLS LEFT FROM A 90 DAY RX. MY EMAIL ADDRESS IS YYYY@YYYY
Micardis also belongs to the sartan family – like losartan You can use any one…but the new prescription has additional diuretic (water pill) / Micardis also has a similar combination product Use any one / use properly / stick to your doctor’s advice – you need follow up.
