Is It Safe To Remove Teeth While Having Chest Pain And Rapid Heart Beat?
My dad needs a tooth extraction, but the dentist said he has to stop taking aspirin before the procedure. My dad was rushed to the hospital a few months back because of chest pain and rapid heart beat. He was given Micardis, amlodipin. Can he go with extraction? thanks!
Aspirin has to be stopped before extraction to prevent prolonged bleeding. I would advice you to first consult your fathers cardiologist and get his cardiac status evaluated. If his doctor gives a yes after a check up,you can carry with the extraction.
Hello, thank you for consulting with healthcaremagic. For extraction of teeth your father will have to discontinue the medications for 2 to 3 days, So better that once you should consult with your physician, then go for tooth removal . Hope it will help you.
