Is It Safe To Take Arthrotec And Benydryl For Itching Of Hands And Elbows?

I am a 75 year old female and in the last two weeks have experienced severe itching from my hands to my elbows. I am not taking any new medications but have been on Arthrotec for a number of years.I can manage the itch during the day without taking antihistamines but I have to take Benydryl at night otherwise I can t cope. My overall health is very good although I have had both knees replaced and also one hip. I am as active as possible after having extensive shoulder surgery in September.

I have read your history carefully.
It is very good that you keep yourself active in spite of so many surgeries.
You told that you are taking arthrotec for several years and wanted to know whether its safe to take benadryl for itching.
Arthrotec is combination of diclofenac and misoprostol. There is no harm in taking benadryl if you are already on arthrotec. They can be taken together.
You should also apply a good moisturizer if you have dryness of skin over elbow and hands.
