Is It Safe To Take Ativan For Anxiety?

I have a prescription for Ativan my label got wet and I don't know the milligram the markings on the pill are Watson 241 then underneath a 1.My 16 year old son is having bad anxiety due to some personal issues and he cannot sleep I was wondering if it was safe for him to take and the dosage to give him he has been up for 24hours.

Ativan comes in different doses. It causes sedation so it will help him to get sleep but avoid higher doses as it will cause heaviness post sleep. Discuss with your doctor regarding other medication available and how to cope up with the stress he is having because of home issues. Its better to get rid of illness from the root cause.
