Is It Safe To Take Benazepril And Furosemide For High BP Leading To Anxiety?
The only time I ever experience anxiety is after I have a high blood pressure reading at home during a stressful day. I am 65 years old and currently on 40 mg. Benazepril and 20 mg. Furosemide daily. Also, I have always experienced white coat hypertension when I have my blood pressure taken at the doctor s office. One of the doctors at my family practice (was the first time I had ever met with her) wanted to put me on an anti-depressant for this which I don t want to do. What is your opinion of this?
Benazepril and furosemide do not cause you anxiety but both drugs can cause significant interaction. Benazepril oral and Furosemide oral mechanism additive drug effects. Both drugs may cause low blood pressure and reduce kidney function. You should be monitored by your doctor closely.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Heang Chan Raksmey, General & Family Physician
