Hello,
Since you have been diagnosed with tachycardia, experience sweating and
palpitation. Presently you are having side effects from the prescription medicine Calaptin. You are suggested to get clinically examined by a cardiologist to detect
hypertension, angina,
sinus tachycardia, AF, any developing CAD, etc. You should get CBC, lipid function tests,
urinalysis, EKG, echo, stress tests done to stay on the safer side. In case any pathology is detected then treatment can be started at the earliest.
In the meantime, if obese do regular exercises and walking to reduce weight. Keep your blood glucose and BP under control. Take food cooked in olive oil, avoid red meat,
trans fat, refined flour, sugars, full fat dairy products, oily fatty food, etc. Since you are having side effects with Calaptin, you can consult your treating doctor and get some other medicine prescribed that suits you better. Switch to healthy diet & heathy lifestyle, stay away from addictions if any.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
