Hi. I m 38 yrs old already. I m on my almost 6 weeks of pregnancy. Last night was first check up with my OB. Duphaston is one of the meds she wants me to take 2X a day for 1 month. After reading all the negative thing online about the Duphaston, I m now worried and terrified. Please advise Doc if I should stop taking it? I just took 1 tab this morning and that was the first. Am I going to continue or not. Can you please recommend much better vitamin and supplements for my pregnancy? Thank you so much.

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi,
Duphaston is a supporting hormone in early pregnancy, so it is given in risky conditions to avoid abortion. It seems, considering your age you have been given it. Please continue it till your doctor advices to stop it. It is for the betterment of pregnancy in precious babies.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale, General & Family Physician
