Hello! Valproic acid (enchorate chrono) is a wellknown anticonvulsant. It is indicated for complex partial seizures. It is also used as a mood stabilizer in bipolar disorder and in preventive treatment of migraine. Valproic acid has many side effects like gastrointestinal discomfort and complaints (nausea more frequent, dyspepsia, diarrhea, abdominal pain), increased bleeding time, decrease in number of plateletes, tremor, hair loss, weakness, infections, increased appetite, weight gain, hapatotoxicity, etc. The adverse effects may become frequent and severe if the doses are higher, but there isn't any connection between the severity of side effects with the duration of treatment. There isn't any interaction found between valproic acid and the antidibetic agents you're taking. In my opinion you should continue to take your medication carelessly if no new symptom or sign appear . I hope i have been of help.
