Is It Safe To Take Lamisil ?

I have been taking the generic brand of lamisil (terbinafine- 250 mg) for two months and have seen only slight improvement (thinning of the thick nails) i am nervous that in a few weeks i will be done with the medicine and the nails not clear. Do people stay on this medicine longer than three months in order to see results? I have not had any side effects . Just want to have the nails clear . Recently lost my job and health insurance .

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hi,

Nail fungal infection is very difficult to treat.
The medicines need to be continued for longer than 3 months.
If you are observing improvement in your nails you can continue this medicine for another few weeks.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Asmeet Kaur Sawhney, Dermatologist
