Is It Safe To Take Lisinopril Along With Amlodipine For Elevated BP?

I have been taking amlodipine 5mg for 2 years and my blood pressure is still high, but now my pcp want me to add lisinopril. I have a Herat murmur due to a leaky valve. I heard that high doses of amlodipine decreases mortality and my cardiologist said I will just prescribe 10 mg of amlodipine, what I d the saftest thing to do?

Welcome at HCM
I have gone through your query and being your physician I completely understand your health concerns.
For how long u are suffering from it? Any other associated problem? like diabetes ?
In my opinion it is important to control the BP. Adding Lisinopril to Amlodipine is a wise decision. There is need to get your renal function tests so that Lisinopril dose can be adjusted. Maintain you BP chart so that any change need to be made can be done in time.
Meanwhile stay calm and avoid salt intake.
Get well soon
Hope your query is adequately addressed if you still have any feel free to ask
