Is It Safe To Take Movantik For Severe Constipation?

For the last two years I ve been having episodes of severe constipation. Every few weeks I will feel the need to go and go sit on the toilet. I will get very hot to the point where I feel like I m going to explode. Start going numb sweating and shaking throwing up sometimes feel like I m dying. Just when I m use I will die my bowels let loose and I literally fill the toilet with pudding like stool and it smells awful. I can t take this to much longer. I take pain meds for chronic pain. Tried all kinds of over the counter laxatives. I was also prescribed a drug called Movantik. Makes me sick. Please help!

Movantik contains naloxegol, which is used to treat constipation caused by prescription of pain medicines called narcotics or opiates. It is FDA approved drug for opioid-induced constipation.
More common side effects associated with the use of drug include: Bloating of abdomen, excess air or gas in the stomach or bowels, feeling of fullness and passing gas.
Less common side effects which may appear include: Headache and vomiting.
Not all side effects for Movantik may be reported.
