Is It Safe To Take Ranitidine For Stomach Pain And Cramping?
hello doctor? I am having bad stomach pain and its been constant. burning, tightness, cramping, bloating? what would you suggest I do? My Doctor prescribed me Ranitidine 150mg..is that to strong for me? I'm 42 years of age and hypersensitive to medication. My wife has Prilosec 20mg. Would that be better. I have had acid reflux for about 2 years but haven't treated it. what would you suggest. Any food I eat hurts my stomache, and I am gassy.
Hi and welcome to HCM. Ranitidine is safe and u can use for burning sensation in stomach and 150 mg is safest dose, no need to worry. Prilosec contains omeprazole which is also antacid drug but belongs to different group called proton pump inhibitors. I suggest u to continue ranitidine and avoid spicy foods. If your symptoms are not improving then consult your doctor and he may prescribe u other medications which are superior to ranitidine. All the best. Regards
