Is It Safe To Take Simvastatin To Control Cholesterol Levels?
Hi Welcome to HCM. Yes it is safe and effective in reducing the cholesterol levels. LDL cholesterol is considered as the most important risk factor of heart disease. Since you are taking Metformin probably for the treatment of diabetes, so it is very much required to be used to reduce the high cholesterol levels. The most important side effects of Simvastatin include muscle pains, right upper abdominal pain due to inflammation of the liver. If you develop these symptoms kindly inform your treating doctor so that an alternate but safer drug can be used to reduce the cholesterol level. Hope this answers your query.
