Is It Safe To Take Sotalol And Amlodipine Together?
Hello, I am on 180mg Sotalol for an eptopic heart beat, I have also been taking bendroflumethiazide but as my BP is still quite high the doctor has now put me on Amlodipine 5mg.
So my question is will there be any reaction between Sotalol and Amlodipine.
Thank you
Stella
Hello Stella You are taking SOTALOL 180 mg. This is a potent beta blockers anti hypertensive and used for many heart diseases as ventricular arrhythmias , sinus rhythm, atrial fibrillation . While Amlopidine is also anti hypertensive and calcium channel blockers . Concomitant use of these two drugs are contraindicated if patient have left ventricular failure (so if possible avoid beta blockers especially in presence of LVF). In my opinion before starting this regime consult one more Cardiologist and get his opinion( 2nd one ). Hope this will help you. Good luck.
