Is It Safe To Take Sudafed For Fluid And Pressure In Ears While Flying?
I am flying in a few hours and am taking amoxicillin, prednizone and nasal spray Flonase for fluid and pressure in ears with no infection. Can I take sudafed to relief pressure before flying to alleviate pain without worrying about drug interactions? What about afrin nasal spray?
As per my clinical experience, the Sudafed is containing Pseudophedrine used as decongestant medication in various allergy, respiratory tract and sinus infection related issues. You can consume this tablet with amoxicillin and prednisolone as there will not be any side effects with this.
Additional guidelines for better recovery: - Deep breathing exercises - Meditations and YOGA - Keeping ears plugged with sterile cotton - Avoiding exposure to noxious or high intensity sounds - Control of blood sugar to avoid flare of infection
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
