hi..thanks for writing..i have understood your concerns..
the drug temzepam is a
benzodiazepine hypnotic agent which is indicated for short term treatment of
insomnia by US FDA [for 7 to 10 days].
this drug is used for treating insomnia..it does not itself cause insomnia..however in elderly people, there are rare chances of paradoxical reactions in which they do not sleep, become agitated, confused, restless..etc..
when the drug is used for longer duration, body develops some kind of dependence on it and abrupt withdrawal of the drug may be associated with rebound insomnia, that is due to body has developed habit of the drug..
the
temazepam comes in a pill of 7.5, 15, 30 mg..start with lower dosage. it decreases the sleep latency time..if there is no enough sleep u can increase the dose..u shud consult your prescribing doctor before making any changes in the dosage..because benzodiazepines are habit forming drugs..u shud not alter dosages on your own...
so,,finally your question and understanding is wrong...temazepam is not associated with insomnia, it is indicated for treatment of insomnia for short duration only...
i hope..u ll find this advice helpful...best luck..
